Beary Colourful BOM: Taking Time Out Teal Bear

Teal Bear of Taking Time Out appliqué by Dione of Clever Chameleon

Today we meet the most chilled out bear of the Beary Colourful family. Please welcome the blue-green Teal Bear of Taking Time Out!

Teal Bear is ready for a holiday. Or a weekend of leisure. Or even just a few hours of unbooked time. He loves taking time out of his busy schedule to smell the roses or shoot the breeze. Today he is in the mood to head down the beach without any particular plan….. build a sand castle, collect some shells, have a paddle, or maybe just get some sand between his toes. Uncomplicated time with a few friends or family, or even  some relaxed alone time.

Beary Colourful Bear BOMPlease welcome the very refreshing Novem-Bear of Taking Time Out to the Beary Colourful family. His blue-green colours are of the revitalising and invigorating powers of water and recreation. Beaches, lakes, rivers – they all have a powerful attraction for people needing some time away from it all.

The eleventh bear in the Beary Colourful Quilt BOM series is adamant that you need to take a breather occasionally. Add this relaxed bear to your collection as an encouragement to find some restoration time. And then go check out the rest of the 2018 Color Challenge posts for other ideas of how to celebrate blue-green colours and enter for November’s Monthly Color Challenge prize. November is nearly upon us, which means several things…..

  • You need to finish up your Blue-Violet creations before the end of Wednesday and get them linked up to Patterns by Jen for your chance to win a $25 voucher for Cherrywood Fabrics.
  • There are only two sleeps until the 11th Beary Colorful Bear arrives and sneak peeks are in full swing on Facebook.
  • We get to start thinking about my favourite part of the colour wheel… Blue-Green for November.
  • And my boy is nearly 8. Turns out, he is suddenly developing quite the sense of humour….

Peacock Batik: Colour Inspiration Tuesday and Link Party

Peacock Feather Batik color scheme at Clever Chameleon

This week I’m crushing on  November’s fabric!

How do you like this peacock feather batik? Glorious, isn’t it? At least, it is to me. I bought this on a whim a while back, knowing that November’s Beary Colourful Bear would be teal.

2018 color challengeTeal is hands down my favourite colour. So I probably had stash I could have used for November’s teal challenge…. But. I love peacock feathers and this fabric had my name on it. I know at the time it was an impulse buy, and I had other priorities….. but I’m totally wondering: why did I only get half a metre!?!

Anyway, today I finished up my test Bear appliqués for November’s Beary Colourful  pattern, so I’ve been playing with this fabric for a couple of days now. It’s so pretty I just couldn’t wait until November 1 to share it with you.

And I ear that someone wasn’t concentrating hard enough when they were cutting out November’s test bears…. and now has two spare sets of bear parts to give away in a couple of weeks time…..

Let me explain.

Beary Colourful BOM: Special Treats Blue-Violet Bear

Blue-Violet Bear of Special Treats appliqué by Clever Chameleon

Healthy Choices Red-Violet Bear made his debut last month…… but what of his non-identical twin, Blue-Violet Bear? Of course, he must be October’s Bear….. the Blue-Violet Bear of Special Treats!

Blue-Violet Bear comes straight after Red-Violet Bear, just like dessert after a healthy meal! You know you want him! He says that after you have taken Healthy Choices Bear’s advice and been good to your body, you should also ignore him and spoil yourself occasionally.

Special Treats Bear is the reminder that “sometimes foods” are actually okay to have sometimes…. after all they are not called “never foods”!! For that matter, treats don’t always have to be unhealthy. I am sure that Healthy Choices Bear and Special Treats Bear actually have some recommendations in common. In the same way that they are coloured two hues of purple. Highly related.

Beary Colourful Bear BOMSpecial treats may or may not be great for your body, but when well-deployed, are certainly good for your mental health. And even more so when shared. So the tenth bear in the Beary Colourful Quilt BOM series is ready to share his ice cream with you….. or is he? Add this enigmatic bear to your collection as you work out whether that ice cream is in his hand for sharing or is on his tummy just for show. And then go check out the rest of the 2018 Color Challenge posts for other ideas of how to celebrate the colour blue-violet and enter for October’s Monthly Color Challenge prize.
