Gettin’ on your Goat! Colour & Inspiration Tuesday

Getting on your Goat colours at Clever Chameleon

Here we goat again

Just a quick post to say “Hi, hope you are having a great week!”, introduce the Year of the Goat block for the Lunarcy quilt and say “See you again in a fortnight”.

Goats are not allowed in Arkaroola – they are a ecological disaster in arid Australia. But the Chameleon quite likes goats – they are slightly insane, very clever…. and also quite tasty. So I thought I had better show off my goat appliqué while we are away from the wilderness sanctuary. Here he is…..

Being on the road this week, I’ve goat to admit that I didn’t get time to organise features from the past week, or to organise a fresh party. So you’ve just got the parts of Colour & Inspiration Tuesday that I could organise ahead offline. Butt…. we’ll have a big knees up when the Chameleon is back at his post in a fortnight, so I’m relying on you to keep adding to our party in the meantime.

Year of the Goat Lunarcy

This is my third-to-last block, and the whole thing has really come together now. I am hoping the next two weeks mostly offline will give me a chance to start releasing patterns.

Disclaimer: Island Batik supplied these fabrics to me free of charge to create the prototype Lunarcy BOM available here soon at Clever Chameleon for the remainder of 2020.

As promised, short and sweet! Would the Chameleon ever kid you? (Don’t answer that!).

So, a looong party to balance it out…..

I have extended last week’s linky so we can party on to the end of July. So, it’s time to grab the goat by the horns and tell us – what are you working on, or have recently finished in your sewing room? We want to know so we can visit and be inspired. Link up a blog post, an IG post or simply a photo from your computer.  See if you can get the Chameleon to turn quilted with happiness. We’d love to see your quilting colours!

  • Link up your latest or recent quilt/sewing excitement. All quilt construction stages welcome – finished quilts, quilt blocks – even fabric pulls! Or inspiration sources!
  • You have 50 characters in the link description…. tell us who you are and what your fantastic project is.
  • URL links are not necessary to link up…. non-bloggers 100% welcome! If you don’t have a URL, you can link up with just a photo.
  • Take a moment to visit some friends who came to the party – leave a little love and make their day. And a link back to Clever Chameleon is always appreciated.
  • Do it now……. before you forget!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. Clever girl, you, with all those funny little goat-tee references in your post. Thanks for the chuckle, and the goat block looks great! Safe travels!

  2. So fun. You did a wonderful job with this goat and lamp. Each one is better than the last. Be safe.

  3. Your goat is adorable! I love how he’s surrounded by flower blossoms, like he’s a naughty goat who’s making a salad out of somebody’s garden. 🙂

  4. Another great block Dione! I love the lantern detail. Oh those flowers…. so much work but wow they really add another layer (literally and figuratively) to your quilt. Gorgeous batiks as always.
