Colour Inspiration Tuesday: It’s time to Party!

The Chameleon has turned One, and he’s having a party. A Colour Party! And YOU are invited!

Party Time color scheme from Clever Chameleon

The Chameleon had a birthday on the 26th April and wanted a party. But just like my kids, he has had to wait until a more opportune moment for his celebrations….. And just like my kids, the waiting has just made him all the more excited! 🙂

Will you come and wish the Chameleon a Happy Birthday and join in the fun?The games are more “Show and Tell” than “Pass the Parcel”, but everyone’s a winner, because the prize is colour inspiration!

Everyone’s colour tastes are different and I know that my current quilt colour choices are  brighter then suits some. And while Colour Inspiration Tuesday will continue to be biased towards my preferences, simply because it’s me here writing, it is time for the Chameleon to become a reptile of a wider world. After all, he keeps insisting that he’s a big boy now.

Hopefully the Clever Chameleon Community is large enough now that we can start to inspire each other. And cover LOTS more colour options. So let’s launch the weekly Tuesday Colour Linky Party!

How I hope it will work

Bring a picture of a quilt (or quilt-like-object eg bag, placemat, ornament, quilt design, appliqué, tutorial etc) that you are working on or have recently finished. Take a special note of the colours you have chosen…. you will be needing that information.

If you have a blog/IG/Flickr post URL to go with your picture, that is all the better.  We definitely want to know more about your project! But I want this to be open to non-bloggers too. So, if you do not blog or use social media, in the linky you have the option to skip the URL field and upload a pic straight from your files . Be aware, that if you upload directly from your files, what appears in your linky is all we’ll see. So keep this in mind when choosing your photo.

If you have a post and fill in the URL field, please make sure you add the permalink to the relevant post. We all want to find your project.

In the description field tell us about the colour scheme you chose. This can be as brief or as detailed as you like. Descriptions such as “Rainbow”, “Multi-coloured”, “Green”, “Red and Blue” are fine. But if you’d rather be really specific, that would be really awesome. This week I have pre-loaded several examples so you can see. No Linky Party police are going to come get you, so participate however you feel comfortable.

Important: Linking to this party indicates that you are happy for me to feature your shared quilt picture (with a direct link to your post) in the future in the context of Colour Inspiration Tuesday. Every week I hope to feature at least one project from the previous week’s party. What fun!

Party Chameleon

Once you are linked up, check out the other entries…… hopefully you will spot some awesome colour ideas that you could use in a future project. … or even for a project you need to get moving on now. If there’s a link, head on over to find out more and say thanks for the inspiration.

Fly Clever Chameleon
Seriously, Chameleon!?! You’re a Dag!

Of course, these guidelines may have to evolve if my idea doesn’t work, but let’s see how this goes. Please let me know if there are problems….. I am kinda making this up on the fly……

Bring your friends and come back next week too

This event is a “plus everyone”! I hope you will join in. And I’m hoping you will invite all your friends too. Although not by any means mandatory, a link in your post or on your sidebar if you have one would be greatly appreciated. Here’s a button if you’d like to use it.

Come back next week, and we’ll take closer look at a link up or two as part of our regular Colour Inspiration Tuesday.

Cake Clever ChameleonBYO Cake?

Sadly, this party is a BYO-cake kind of affair. But only because I haven’t found a WordPress plugin that will deliver the real thing to you. They say “it’s the thought that counts”. Which we all know is usually rubbish…. but since it’s the best we can do, the Chameleon is thinking of birthday cake for you…. Even though he prefers flies……

Thanks for taking the time to join the Chameleon’s Linky Party today!

  1. Ok… I linked up… one lot of bright blocks, but not a finish.. and then the other is much more muted – my colors 🙂 I love working with brights, but in my own home I prefer softer colors… funny isn’t it?x xx

  2. Happy Birthday Clever Chameleon! So glad that you’re in QBL, with your talents to share! I’ve linked up a finished RSC quilt, hope that’s the right idea! Clicked on some of the links; I just LOVE that pool colour scheme!

  3. Happy birthday to the Chameleon! This is such a fun idea for a party, glad he is letting us share in the fun 🙂
